'a vibrating milieu of shifting consistency.'

I love this sort of ad hoc urban building. The irregular, compact, but rewardingly rich spaces created just teem with individuality, with a specific sense of place. Sometimes I bemoan the designer’s need to control everything, to cleanse everything to the point of sterility, or even worse pretend complexity. But then again, I do this, and I don’t know how to loosely design effectively. Spaces like this sometimes seem beyond my abilities, beyond the realm of absolute designers. Constrictions and obstacles make for the best designs, in my opinion, and this is a great example of that.
